Maggie McCarthy has established a reputation as a tenacious advocate for her clients. She has a brilliant legal mind having graduated, Cum Laude, from Marquette University Law School. While at Marquette, she received the Thomas More law Scholarship and The CALI Award for the highest grade at the Law School in Business. Maggie has worked in all areas of family law including divorce, paternity, child placement, custody, child support, guardianship, adoption, termination of parental rights and relocation. She is a certified guardian ad litem as well.

 

 

The judges and court commissioners of Rock County have demonstrated their confidence in Maggie by repeatedly appointing her to represent parties and children in some of the most complex cases in the family law system. Maggie is well liked by the judges and court commissioners and more importantly, she is respected for her intelligence, hard work and zealous advocacy. In addition to her superb skill as a family law advocate, Maggie gained practical trial court experience in the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office. Maggie was chosen by Milwaukee County’s homicide and sexual assault Judge, the Honorable Jeffery Conen, to act as his judicial intern while in Law School. During that time, Maggie attended court with Judge Conen, discussed case disposition on a daily basis, read and analyzed briefs from both the prosecution and defense, and drafted proposed decisions for Judge Conen's review.
